Well it has been a rollercoaster of a week for sure, but it really feels like things have turned a corner.

Yesterday we moved to a new server in the middle of the week. Most tech people will tell you what a horrible idea that is but we really felt we had no choice with the outages we were facing every day at 5pm ET (and then again at 7pm ET when the rebroadcast began). So we moved the site over but then our SSL Certificate, which verifies that our site is secure, didn’t move with it so people were still have issues well into the night.

But now, the SSL Certificate is place. The site has been moved over. Some people are still stuck in what I am calling the Phantom Cache Zone. Their computer is still trying to access the site on the old server and so it seems like their site is working but it really isn’t. And then all of a sudden their password doesn’t work anymore. So if you get stuck in the Phantom Cache Zone, clear your browser cache and restart your computer and it should work fine.

The biggest issue today has been the download of the Day Three show in the Audio Archive. Unfortunately, we had an unintended consequence of the move to the new server and the file size of the show was larger than their file capacity. It took some time but it is finally up there now and ready for download. So in the meantime, enjoy the current show streaming on the DNR Live page.

Whether you have had problems or not, we really appreciate your patience as we pull this whole enterprise together. We are really giving it our all here and it feels like it is finally coming together. Thanks for sticking with us!

Well day two was such a success downloading, I figured great, I will just download day 3 so I can listen to it at work instead of losing a night’s sleep. Now I can’t sleep waiting on the fix so I can get my fix. Let’s hope that Jeff can tap into his inner OCD and help us out.

Hey, so great to see you back. Was afraid you were kidnapped into some Witless protection program. I look forward to your comments, and can’t wait to hear you again when the phones come up. Now when you say you refreshed, I assume you mean you downed a big glass of cheap wine?

The sound started fading to almost zero a while ago. I checked the player and laptop volume and both were OK. Thought about what was wrong then realized earbuds were oozing out of my ears. It’s hell to get old.

Does the player work on iPhone? I have not tried it yet and want to listen on the way home from work tomorrow.

Yes the streaming player does work on iPhone and it will also use your data (if that is a concern for you). Shows are available for download as well in the Audio Archive although Apple doesn’t make it easy to download an audio file directly on your iPhone and play it in iTunes unless you buy it from iTunes.

So if you do decide you want to download the shows, you can do it on a computer beforehand and then transfer to your phone as you would any other audio file or download the Dropbox app onto your phone, download the song on your iPhone into the Dropbox app and play it from there. We will have an iPhone app relatively soon so in both cases it is a temporary solution.

The issues don’t bother me. I’m glad I subscribed before Monday and I’m sooooo happy you’re back every day!
